doing business with. Therefore, we want to tell you exactly who we are,
where we come from and what our background in the diamond and jewelry business
is and has been.
A. Fishman & Son is a 60 year old, three generation, loose diamond and
diamond jewelry manufacturing company located in the heart of the
diamond district in New York City. We operate two primary businesses:
The Principals
David Fishman, Chairman of the Board, has been in the diamond and
jewelry business for over 60 years. He has been a member of the New York Diamond
Dealers Club since 1948. He revolutionized the fine jewelry business by
being one of the first manufacturers to produce a fine line of ladies jewelry
supported by an extensive jewelry catalog. Mr. Fishman's expertise in the
diamond business began in the late 1940's as he learned the art of cutting and
evaluating diamonds from his father, Abraham Fishman, the founder of A. Fishman
& Son, long before certificates and price lists made everyone an "expert."
On May 16, 2006, Mr. David Fishman was recognized by
the Diamond Dealers Club of New York for his more than 50 years of
membership and contributions to the diamond industry in New York. The
certificate is a replica of Mr. Fishman's original application for membership in
the Diamond Dealers Club in 1948.
Joshua Fishman, President, joined his father David in the
business in 1982, after a career in law, having graduated from
the Harvard Law School in 1976. He has been a member of the New York
Diamond Dealers Club since 1983. Most importantly, he has gained his
understanding, expertise and appreciation of diamonds from his father David.
